Top 5: Apps & Websites for Saving Money

Looking for awesome apps and websites to help you track your budget and save money? I have a list for you! Below are the top 5 apps and sites that we use on a regular basis to keep us in line with our finances.

  1. Mint Intuit – Mint gives you personalized insights on your spending habits and offers budgeting tools and goal setting. My favorite thing about the app is that it’s free! You can also link your bank accounts to get a wholistic view of your finances (that means linking your investment accounts too). We use this daily to keep track of our finances and net worth.
  2. GetUpside – This is a great app to use for gasoline. The app is free to use and shows you gas stations near you that are providing cash back. You literally get free money for pumping gas.. you can reach out to us for our referral code to get an additional 15 cent cash back! Once you have $15 you can transfer the money to paypal or get a gift card. We’ve received hundreds of dollars in cash back from this app for a necessity!
  3. Joinhoney.com – This is a great tool if you’re doing a lot of online shopping. It searches the internet for any available discount codes that you can apply to your cart. We don’t shop online much but when we do, I usually try to run honey on my cart to make sure I’m not paying full retail. It’s also a free chrome bolt on so you can download it on your PC for easy use.
  4. Prizepool – This is a new one for us but we like it so far. You download the app and it’s essentially like opening a savings account. Each week there’s a drawing and you can earn prizes (interest). There are over 4,000 cash prizes every week – including a $25,000 grand prize at the end of the month. It also earns you 0.30% which is way more than your average savings account.
  5. Giftcardgranny.com or Raise.com – If you shop at big retailers, this is a great option to save a few extra dollars. You can buy gift cards at a discount. For example, Joe has a $50 gift card to Ulta but he doesn’t shop at Ulta (or have a girlfriend) so he sells his gift card to one of these sites for $30 cash. The sites will then re-sell the gift card to you for $40 so you’re getting a $50 gift card for $10 off. You’re happy, Joe is happy and Giftcard Granny is happy! We do this for Target, Walmart and grocery stores to save a few dollars on regular purchases we make.

There are so many money saving apps and websites out there but these are some of our favorites that have been tried and trusted! Let me know in the comments what your favorite apps and websites are!
