National Parks

Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah

Bryce Canyon National Park was our third national park. We headed to Bryce Canyon right after Zion. This place was truly a masterpiece. The hoodoos and natural arches were amazing to see in person. Many of the national parks out west have a wide variation of colors and Bryce Canyon was no different. There was a light dusting of snow as we made our way to the top of the park with a bright blue sky. The park wasn’t crowded and we were able to drive our personal vehicle on the 18 mile scenic route through the entire park. We visited Rainbow Point, Yovimpa Point, Ponderosa Point and the Natural Bridge. Most of the major lookout points are paved for easy walking but there were also a few dirt trails that you can venture off on your own. We hiked down a small path near the Bryce Amphitheater in the middle of the hoodoos and realized how small we were. The combination of good weather, light crowds and beautiful scenery made it one of my favorite parks during our west coast trip. After spending the afternoon in Bryce we headed towards Moab to visit Arches and Canyonlands National Park.
